If you are on a budget and want to enjoy a good hamburgers meme without spending too much money, then you should try making your own burgers.

In this article we will cover what you need to make the perfect homemade burger from start to finish, including how to make the patty, cooking it up properly for juicy perfection. We will also include some pointers about making vegetarian and vegan burgers along with some more advanced tips such as topping and condiments.

1. Choose Your Meat

The first thing you will need to do in order to make your own burgers is choose the type of meat that you want to use for it.

There are several advantages and disadvantages depending on the type of meat you use. For this guide we are going to utilize chicken because it is relatively inexpensive, plentiful and easy to get from the supermarket. You can also add other ingredients depending on your taste like french fries (fried in boiling oil) or ketchup.

2. Check The Weight

With chicken, there is a big difference in the weight of leg parts and other parts, with breasts being about equal in size for all parts.

It is important to use the right weight of meat, as too much can make the burger dry. I’d say an average is 1/4 lbs for every patty and this should be enough.

3. Form The Patties

A good homemade burger will be fluffy and moist on the inside and very crispy on the outside. In order for this to happen, it is important that you form your patties correctly in order for them to cook quickly once placed in a frying pan. There are two basic ways to do this:

When it comes to making a decent looking burger, one of these methods will do fine:

METHOD 1:  Forming the Patties

In this case, you will either poke two holes in the center of a piece of cheese which is then put into the center of your patty; or you will roll the meat into five equal parts. If using cheese, put about four teaspoons in each hole, and if using rolls, use two pieces for each patty.

METHOD 2:  Mixing The Meat

This method produces a very thick and well-formed burger that also has a distinctive tip. All you need to do is mix your ground meat with bread crumbs/crumbs before forming them. It’s not an exact science but try to make sure it doesn’t have big chunks of meat that won’t cook through.

4. Form The Patties

Use your hands and squeeze the patties gently to make sure you can form them into a ball. It should be about eight inches wide and four inches tall.

5. Cook The Burgers

Place them on a greased baking sheet, cover with foil and put it in the oven at 325 F for 25-35 minutes or until they are fully cooked through. Make sure that they are cooked all over, not just on the bottom.

6. Check The Doneness

Are they soft enough? If they aren’t, leave them in for another five minutes or so.

7. Cook The Burgers

Place them on a greased baking sheet, cover with foil and put it in the oven at 325 F for 25-35 minutes or until they are fully cooked through. Make sure that they are cooked all over, not just on the bottom. When they are fully cooked, take them out of the oven and place them on a plate to cool down for a few minutes.

8. Dress It Up

You can dress up your burger by cooking any vegetables that you may have in your kitchen: onions, tomatoes, cucumber, for example. Cooking them with the meat is one way to make sure that they are not raw.

9. Add Condiments

If you have some extras on hand like ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise, then you can mix them in or just use it as a condiment. If you do this the burger will have more flavour. Burgers can also be dressed up by adding optional toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles etc., or even using condiments like mayonnaise or mustard.

10. Grab A Beer

As a final step, you can have a beer with your burger. The best way is to add the beer as a paste before adding to your burger, as it will be easier to work with. You don’t have to drink specific beers for this, any variety will do.

11. Enjoy The Burger!

When you are ready to eat your burger, place it on a flat and greased baking sheet or plate. You can also use a large skillet as long as you don’t flatten the patty too much. That’s all there is to it! You now know how to make the perfect hamburger in the most cost-effective way possible.
