If you read the book, then you will know that siamaks is a group of people who have developed a method for learning to meditate by focusing their attention on the sounds of the ocean. But what does this actually mean?

A lot of research has been done into how sound can change our mental and physical state. Long before meditation was a thing, music was used to help sleep, create energy, and fight off depression. And technology has been catching up in recent years — there are now machines that produce pulses, rhythms and tones that affect your brain waves in different ways. It’s called neurofeedback therapy.

1. The SIAMAK waves are like music for your mind.

One of the main theories behind the use of the SIAMAKS waves is that they “reshape and shape” our brainwaves.

Now, most people are aware of the fact that sound travels differently through solid materials — for example a bell or a drum can go much further than a voice. Those who study acoustics know that not all sound behaves in this way though — at certain frequencies, these waves “drop out”, meaning they are more difficult to transmit by air. There are many different experiments about how sounds affect us but it’s generally accepted that when we’re exposed to sounds of around 20Hz to 20kHz (that’s around 30 cycles per second), our brains fall into a pattern known as beta-wave synchronization.

2. Beta (b, β, or λ) waves are related to alertness

If you think about it, the SIAMAK waves resemble the classic “brain wave” as it’s known; that is, a certain pattern of electrical activity occurring in the brain. However, because they follow a different pattern of activity than most people experience naturally, they are often described as being more “nervous” or “alert” than those we’re used to.

So why does this matter? Well consider this scenario: in this scenario someone is hearing and feeling their SIAMAK waves coming through their ears. Imagine their perception changes. They begin to change their body. Just by hearing that sound, they start to move and feel a bit “nervous”. This can be explained by the fact that our nervous system is more responsive to these waves than other sounds.

3. The SIAMAK waves are like a musical beat for your mind

Though the SIAMAK wave is often described as being “alert”, it’s also said to have a “beat”. This can be thought of as the rhythm that your brain naturally emits — similar to how music affects us more than silence does. The same goes for our bodies; when we hear that beat it affects us in ways our bodies are adapted to do (such as moving).

4. Sound changes your brain waves

If it’s true that sound waves can change a person’s brain activity, then it follows that anyone can learn to use these waves to their advantage. Using them to help you get into a state of relaxation is just one example.

5. The SIAMAK is a specific frequency

Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered the link between sound and our brain waves through his experiments with tuning forks and sound stimulation; he was also the first person to map out the different frequencies and how they affected our bodies and minds. Through his work he found that there are several frequencies which seem to have consistent effects on brain activity, one of which is around 24Hz.

6. The SIAMAK is found on the shore

Though a lot of work has been done in the area of sound and your nervous system, a lot less research has been done with the SIAMEK and its effects. This is because engineers have difficulty testing acoustics on the beach. However, in 1963 Swedish scientists managed to create “sound bubbles” which did indeed produce an effect similar to what we’re talking about here.

7. Many people are sensitive to these waves

It’s said that there are many people who are naturally sensitive to these types of sounds and their effects; some people can hear them just by listening through their ears, others on their skin or by using headphones. If you’re among this group, then you’ll know that a lot of people don’t believe you when you talk about it. If you’re not, consider yourself lucky!

8. The SIAMAK is great for mindfulness

Just because the SIAMAK wave is found on the shore doesn’t mean it has to be associated with water; there’s a lot of research being done on how sound can improve mindfulness and help us feel more relaxed.

9. You can use your own SIAMAK waves

Though this information is new, people have been using their own brain waves for a long time; every person uses them to get into states of relaxation, passion or excitement on a daily basis.

Summary:

The SIAMAK waves are said to be different to the normal brain wave activity that most people experience. They produce changes in our thinking, feeling and sensory perception. You can learn how to create and use your own SIAMAK waves with the help of a free online course.
