1.  Offer a clear, compelling value proposition

I am sure you have heard this before, but the fact of the matter is that one of the most important aspects of any company is their product or service. There are so many things that are important to your business, but they are only as good as your product. 

Few people will go out of their way to use a service that provides nothing they want or need. A good company understands this and sets out to find ways to provide value for their customers.

This sounds obvious, but it is very difficult for most companies to achieve this. They fail. 

But, you can succeed! 

2. Create the best product possible

This ties in with the first strategy.  If you are not creating a product that people actually need, then your business will fail.  If your product is mediocre , then no one will purchase it- they will go elsewhere to find something that works for their needs . 

It doesn’t matter how much money you have or how well you market yourself if no one wants what you’re selling .

Be relentless in the pursuit of a product that is a must-have for your customers . 

3.  Stand Out from and outsmart your competitors

This is a two-for one deal.  I know this because I have heard this numerous times from people on my podcast.  It makes sense when you think about it.  If you are not different from all of your competitors, then you will always be below them in the pecking order. If nobody knows who you are, then no one will purchase from you .

If you are not better than the competition, then you are unnecessary.  Don’t be unnecessary .  People won’t go out of their way to trust someone that has no reason to be trusted .

You need to have a product that is different from the competition in some way, whether it’s quality, size , price, etc. If your business is just like everyone else’s in every aspect, then you will always be a follower and not a leader .

4. Focus on user satisfaction

Try to make your product perfect .  This is ideal, but not entirely necessary.  But, you should work to make your product better than the competition in some way.  Make it what people are looking for when they are looking for it.  If you’re not doing that , then why would anyone go with you?

Think about this: how many times have you decided not to purchase something that was previously a temptation because something better came along?

If you want repeat customers , then remember that another company will always be there to take them away from you if you aren’t satisfying their needs .

5. Give back to the community that helped make you great

No business can do it alone.  It takes support from its customers, investors, partners , employees and well-wishers .
